Half English, half Welsh; Nick Cann was born in southwest London in 1959. Since 1981 he has worked as a magazine and newspaper designer. He was the recipient of three of the 1987 National Newspaper Design Awards for his art direction and design on Today Newspaper’s Sports Extra section.
 
In 1989 he moved to live in Northern Ireland where he works as a editorial design consultant and journalist.

Jake‘s Eulogy was listed as best seller in the Belfast Telegraph ‘Books in Paperback’ listing week ending Saturday 20 August 2005.

Jake‘s Eulogy and On the Island  are the second and third novels in a series of four books by Nick Cann. His fourth novel, Personal Effects, will be published in Autumn 2010.
